Imagine you are on a late night stroll through the quiet city.

The air is thick with the smell of oak tree bark and wet grass. The sound of a bus humbly passing under the streetlights momentarily mutes the crunch of your footsteps on the concrete. In the southern sky, at its meridian, the waning gibbous moon is obscured by wispy clouds.

You stop in your tracks.

Ahead of you, red light spills onto the pavement. The glow of a neon rose hanging in the window of a one story retail property transfixes you.

You approach the store slowly…

…and look through the plate glass window. There is no furniture or interior walls, just an empty space. The inside is dark and shadowy, lit harshly by the rich crimson glow of the lamp.

As though by instinct, your hand reaches for the door handle.

You pull and discover the door is unlocked. As it opens, white light floods out through the opening you are creating.

It’s so bright it begins to burn your eyes.

With your free hand, you shield your vision so that, when you have opened the door completely, you can just make out the silhouette of a figure standing inside the empty room.

Before you can say anything…

you hear a voice speak to you, but it is coming from within your own mind.

W̷̖͠el̵͓͑ç̸̉om̸̪͘e Us̸͎̒er̴͉̀!

The voice is corrupted, the pronunciation is scrambled and distorted.

The light becomes too bright, you close your eyes.

When you open them again, all that is left is the blinding light. The storefront, the neon rose, the moonlit city are all gone.

You blink…

…and blink again…

…and you realize

…that in fact, this entire time, you were…

…you are still…

…looking at a screen.

Welcome to thebourgeoispunk.NET

A website, such as this, is a collection of web pages and related content that is identified by a common domain name. A domain name, such as thebourgeoispunk.net, is an identification string that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority or control within the Internet. Here, no other name matters. In this domain, [redacted] or “the Artist,” acts as that authority, in coordination with godaddy.com and wordpress.com.

Thesis: In a world in which a person must make money in order to survive, each person is forced to operate as a business.

Therefore, if I (the Artist) must be a business, then that business must only sell my artistic vision. If that business must have a website, it is this one.

For now, since there is nothing for sale, this space is more like a museum. The price of admission is simply your time and respect. If you would like to meet me (the Artist) and learn my name, you can schedule a meeting, but if you search a bit deeper you may find that more is revealed here than a name would provide.
